I've started a new game a little while ago with a custom Rus ruler replacing Rurik.ġ) Being a dwarf, in an attempt to spawn a race of dwarves.Ģ) Min-maxing everything else for the best possible health. It seems I'm unable to stick with a game for any decent length of time. As long as he doesn't die by accident (and he is going nowhere near battles) then it will make ruling the republic even easier. Still only has two pips on his stewardship rating - hopefully he can pick up the other two over the course of his life. He is quite good, without being exceptional. I was worried that he, like a number of others before him, would die before he achieved immortality, but he pulled through and ate the fruit. My ruler actually caught small pox while out searching for a tree with an apple on it that granted immortality. Thankfully it didn't hit Gotland, but a smallpox epidemic did - some provinces were experiencing both. Just as he started up the Black Death returned, in 1030, in southwest England, spreading to my Flanders holdings and up to Denmark. I foresee fun times in Hispania.Īnd, after a half dozen starts int he campaign, I have finally managed to get an immortal ruler. Amusingly they have gone elective and returned the Ummayyads to power, but the new ruler is a Zikiri heretic. They have finally dipped below it now after a long and continuous plundering spree across Hispania. At one point I had +37% MA from temple burning, all of them against the Sunni, and yet the faith was still at 100%. I've finally started to weaken the Sunni MA. I went from 20 trade posts I built myself to over 40 now, with all since then ones I've inherited. Plus they won't have had time to produce many heirs. While they do that, you murder off the next house and cycle through them so by the time you are back to the first they have inherited three and built 1 or 2 more. And the new house starts with a small amount of gold with which to start building new trade posts.

When one house dies, all their trade posts are shared out among the remaining families, so if they had 4 then you will get one. No one cares I'm doing it and so many are getting in on the plots I've hit 1000%+ on some of them. The merchant house murdering has turned in to house farming now. Completely illogical, but not much can be done about it. And the title they have accepted? A mere barony. Twice now I've had exceptional heirs I've bred and taught get poached. Given that they have to be in your court and unlanded (at least I have never had an option of choosing a landed kinsman), others can steal them away with others of titles. Ran into one slight downside of being a merchant republic.
